I just got my first batch of coffee from Caffe Fresco (Ambrosia and Red Star), what is the recommended brew temp for each?

I like Ambrosia at 93c, though it will also work at 94.

Hey There! The temp. spec for Ambrosia Espresso Blend is between 199 and 201 degrees F. Daterra Reserve is spec'd at 198 to 200. Red Star would fall into the 199 to 201 degree range as well. Ultimately your taste buds will govern the brew temp. If you find the suggested brew temps to produce a sour shot, slightly raise the temp, and visa-versa if the brew is bitter slightly decrease the brew temp.

Just in case you need to look up the suggested brew temps again they are posted on the website and also printed on the coffee bag labels.

If you have any other questions either e-mail me directly or we can continue the dialog here. My only suggestion to you, in the meantime, is to thoroughly read the Roasted & Posted e-mail that was recently sent to you. In it are other suggestions and tips to get the most out of my roast.

Thanks,

TonyS.

Thanks for the information Tony. I did get your email. If anyone is interested, I tossed together a blog (something I told myself I would never do) to chronicle my experience, among other things.

My initial thoughts were confirmed. My first shots were good but a bit edgy, like the blend needed another couple of days to degas. My beans were roasted on Friday, so that put me right on the mark. Unfortunately, I was out of roasted beans so I pressed the Ambrosia into service a little early. I am looking forward to seeing how this develops. The Red Star is being held in reserve, it should be prime by the time I cut into the bag.

Just to clarify, the information I requested in my initial post is on the web, I did not look close enough. That is what you get for rushing.

Can there ever be too many espresso blogs? I like the Pen Tests cup picture(second and third), although it looks like you let it sit too long (crema starting to dissipate) and sloshed it around. That would cost you points in competition. ;-)

I thought it was more important to take a slurp before the photo
