Hi,

I've just acquired as a first venture in to espresso machines, a secondhand Brasilia Portofino single group. Would anyone know how I would tell if I have a series 1 or 2 group head on this machine? I want to replace the group gasket and they list both options on http://www.happydonkey.co.uk

Also, does anyone know where i could acquire an instruction/technical manual for it?

Thanks in advance

Rgds

Hi,

take a look here:

As for the manual, just contact Brasilia (info@brasilia.it) directly to send you a PDF version.

Thanks Bernhard, Useful website with the schematics - should be able to identify it from that...

Here's some photo's of the machine, When I get chance I'll insulate the boiler and clean up the inside.

Another question I had was whether there originally would have been another cover above boiler area before the cup tray is put on top. My thoughts were that if wet cups were put onto the tray they could drip through onto the workings including some electrical connections. There are 2 screws on the bar that run left to right near the front that appear to have no purpose at present. Any pics of the insides of another one of these would be appreciated.

My pressures are about 1.2 bar at idle, group pressure between 9-10 bar, and incoming water pressure just over 3 bar.

Hi,

no cover afaik (not on my Portofino America at least)
I don't know your machine but the electrical connections
should be 'out of the way' of any drip water.

Cheers,
