Hello All:

I just picked up a used Elektra S1C. It is used and didn't come with any manuals, but I did find a rudimentary "training manual" online. This morning I tried to fire it up-- I can't get more than a drip of water through to the group head. Any suggestions on what to try?

I filled it to about 3/4 full, and allowed the pressure to rise into the 1-1.5 bar range-- then I put the single filter into the porta-filter and pulled the lever all the way down. I made multiple attempts, varied the lever pull rate and the length of time I held it down-- I never got more than a drip or two... It produces great steam and the pressure cut-off appears to work fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Update...

I have located the problem-- the pickup tube into the boiler from the grouphead was clogged with deposits. Unfortunately I discovered this by removing the 4 10mm bolts that hold the grouphead on. All the bolts were badly corroded, and one actually snapped off. I need to get the remains out, then find a source for a new gasket. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Ouch! 1st-line should have gasket rebuild kits for recent-model Elektra levers in stock.
