I was just wondering - is anyone else hearing the spring when you pull shots? Dang-wang-lang like the feather in an old sofa as the lever goes up? I do on my Bez.
Is this OK, or is it bad?

P.S. If you don't have a spring lever but still hear those sounds when you pull, not to worry. It isn't the machine ;) D.S

Oh yes, groaning and boinging on our Brunella both on up and down movement....sounds a like a creaky gate. This is the only spring that makes this sound and we have yet to figure it out but it seems just a complaint from Brunella and not anything of concern. A bit embarrassing when guests are about, but the good shots more than make up for it.

I already feel better.
Have tried letting a drop or two of olive oil down into the group, it helped a little for a while, but it couldn't remove all of the springy sounds. Maybe it is bad fat for the group? I tend to trust olive oil over most other oils when cooking or lubricating kitchen utensils, smells nice and all, that's why I tried it for the Bez too.

any chance it's calcium buildup in the piston?

Not build up in ours, we're sure of that!

There was a thread awhile back about sounds from a P.V. Lusso, and the solution was lubricating the pins. The sound doesn't seem like it's coming from inside the cylinder to us, just a bit mysterious...

Hmmm... mysterious indeed.
These sounds/vibrations travel quite effortlessly through metal, of course. On mine the sound seems to come from the handle and the cam part.

orphanespresso: lubricating the pins? What pins?
