I remember comments here or on CG about brushes for clearing the grinder chute and the bristles that end up in the doser and the PF. I couldn't find a similar post through the search, and apologize if someone already discovered this and it's a repeat? If you're doing short runs and like a clean chute/doser, this is for you. I've been using the brush shown below for a couple months now, and it's just now showing some wear.... only because I put it "tip side down" in my tool jar, which distorted the straight chisel form. Other than that, it is an exact fit to the chute on my Macap M4 stepless, doser model grinder.

I should preface my comments by saying that I removed both the upper and lower guards within the grounds hopper. I guess I'm living dangerously, but don't have an issue and find it so much easier to properly clear the doser with both items gone. Now here's how I get "all" the remainder of the grounds.....

After running the grinder initially, and shutting it off, I stick the brush tip into the chute and pull all the grounds forward. I repeat this by jogging the on-off switch and brushing it out until jogging the electrical switch doesn't yield anymore grounds. (They tend to keep shooting out for about 3-5 jogs.) I then brush all the grounds off of the center post and any other "hangup area" and into one of the pie wedges of the doser.

Great thing about this particular brush is that you have "zero bristle issue" and the brush is only $0.49 at Orchard Supply Hardware stores. I'm sure they're available at other general supply hardwares. Most important is that the brush width is 1", which fits the chute perfectly. I found this one, along with other widths available, in the paint department.

I hope this helps some of you......
