is it any good? the dude at the store is a close acquaintance of my father's and i could prolly get a 20% off...

I have no experience with that model, but I found more information searching on "cafe retro espresso machine", including this match from HB:

It reminds me of Francis!Francis! designs, which are known for being high on style and average on performance (e.g., CoffeeGeek's Francis! Francis! X1 First Look). On the positive side, I like the look and it appears to require little countertop space.

Yeah, i googled for ariete cafe retro, so i didn't get HB results... i didn't search for it here in the forums because i thought that it is a worthless machine and it couldn't be possibly mentioned in here...

... good thing i was wrong.
