Tony,

Kudos to you for including recommendations on degas period in your shipments. Wish all roasters did that!

Maybe you could take it a step further by posting that info on the website order page. That will assist customers in timing their orders just right (i.e. if the rest period is 8 days, I need to order earlier!)

I ordered the PNG Kimil A and the Brazil Daterra Reserve last week, and I'm extremely pleased.

I have been frequently underwhelmed by the highly-lauded macro roaster blends, but I am pulling fantastic shots with Tony's single origins.

I gave the Brazil a good 8 days post-roast before opening (while I enjoyed the PNG) and I'm getting thick, gooey, crema-laden pulls that seem to go forever without blonding.

Mostly having cappuccinos because I'm trying to get the hang of the fast steam wand on my Andreja Premium. The Brazil Daterra Reserve in short milk is all butter, honey, and almonds. (And cherries, according to my SO.)

I ordered the Daterra's Reserve, Flosie's Blend, and PNG last week. Like many others, I'm amazed by my selection. I started off with the Daterra's Reserve; a chocolate lover's must. The bag I'm on now is the Flosie's Blend... :D !! little darker chocolate taste with a subtle orage hint...and what an incredible aroma! I hope the PNG lives up to the other two. If so, this was one fantastic purchase.

Well, I have not read the entire thread, but in response to your original question: I placed an order with them last week, and they replied that it will be mailed tomorrow. So, I guess they are back in business.

Nope, Tony seems to still be offering only a limited selection. His main site, http://www.caffefresco.us/, is still displaying that they will be reopening midsummer. You can order his limited offering beans from http://www.doubleff.com/ at the moment, but we're all still anxiously awaiting the re-release of the Ambrosia blend. :)

I FINALLY decided to try the DoubleFF coffee, and yesterday I attempted to order some of Tony's coffee online. However, I woke up to seeing my order canceled and my paypal refunded. Here is his email that followed:

Hello:

Due to a technical problem your order will not be able to be Roasted & Posted today. You have already been issued a full refund. Please see your PayPal account for all activity.

Also, the URL http://www.doubleff.com will be turned off and no further roasting for online orders will be made until the official re-opening of Caffe Fresco. Look for the re-opening of http://www.caffefresco.us to occur in a few weeks.

Best Regards,

This is what his main page says:

Caffe Fresco SCR's new website will be opening in a few weeks!
Although Fresco's new roastery is thoroughly complete and ready to go
all "Limited" Roasted & Post sessions have been discontinued in order to
focus on the re-opening.

Please stay tuned to www.caffefresco.us and look for the
announcement in The Freshest Scoop Newsletter.
To subscribe to The Freshest Scoop send an e-mail to Fresco
by clicking on the logo below. Thanks for all your patronage
in the past, for without you there would be no Caffe Fresco SCR!

As an aficionado of Ambrosia, it has not been currently available.

I have instead been ordering the Flossie's Blend and the Daterra Reserve. Both are excellent.

The Daterra Reserve is simply exquisite, phenomenal and most of all... delicious.

Very rarely do I purchase any espresso other than a blend but the Daterra Reserve has changed my opinion on that.

This last batch... tasty!

Kudos Tony!

I emailed Tony this week. He says he will be re-starting the Roast-and-post soon, with a full opening coming.

Stay Tuned.
