Any Problem With Cimbali Max Hybrid and Large Beans?

Grinders are one of the keys to exceptional espresso. Discuss them here.

I've heard rumours that large beans tend to get hung up in the throat of the low-profile version of the Max (as modified in response to Chris Coffee's suggestions), thus effectively "filtering" large beans out of what goes through to the burrs. Have any Max owners/users found this to be true?

There's a gap below the hopper above the burrs that catches beans, regardless of size.

Dave Stephens modded his Max here.

It's more of a "What were they thinking?" annoyance than a serious problem. Ken Fox describes it here

Large or small, all beans meet their demise in Max's maw.

I have not had any problems and I have used some huge Java beans in my blends. The Max is an equal opportunity bean crusher.
