My instinct is to immediately let the server know that while it's bad enough that the general public is clueless about the subject, I generally find it an abomination when the attempt is made at a restaurant! I'm finding it hard to just graciously say "No thanks", without adding........."Why would I want to ruin what was, up to this point, a good meal?!"
Yikes! Don't get me started! I'm not even all that fussy when it comes to coffee, but there are hardly any restaurants capable of creating even the most modest of coffees (I'm not even talking espresso here).
One can't understand how a restaurant can conscionably charge $4 or more for a cup of coffee that is essentially freeze dried crap from a bad drip machine. I mean, why would you want your customers last thoughts after a great meal be the disappointment of a bad cup of coffee?
