Are there any 58mm PFs which employ a design comparable to that shown here in this pic of the Peppina's PF? Instead of opposing inclined grooves on the inner wall of the grouphead, the incline is placed on the ears of the PF and the groove or ledge inside the grouphead remains level?

Regards
Timo

If I am reading this correctly, then as far as I know, all of the 58mm PF's that I have seen have a taper to the ears, thin at the entry point and gradually getting thicker to the rear.
The only difference that I have seen is in the rate of thickening of the ears and their position on the portafilter. IE the ears on a La Cimbali portafilter are lower and shorter relative to the top of the portafilter, than the ears on a La Marzocco portafilter. On all of the E61 heads that I have seen, admittedly not a huge amount, the mount has always been perfectly parallel, no inclines.

I have 2 PF:
1. That which came with my Expobar Office Control (now with manometer attached), and
2. The Nekkid, crotchless offering of EPNW.

Both have tapered tangs though neither is as steeply tapered as what you show.

Here is the EPNW PF:

(sorry about the poopy focus)

Here is the Expobar PF:

BTW, both are 58mm.
