Which pressurestat for Elektra SemiAutomatica

Postby howard seth on Tue Mar 20, 2007 12:26 pm

Well, my Elektra Semi.. pressurestat -the Ma-ter- really seems stuck this time - I tried wiggling it, and descaling the machine with citric acid. No luck. I will probably order a replacement stat - and try to replace it myself.

I have read and have heard different suggestions on which to use -from another Ma-ter, to a CEME - to a Jaeger-(which they have at ChrisCoffee). The Jaeger looks the most robust -any body have current notions about this?

I tried a Jaeger briefly, and it didn't seem to work at all underwater. I didn't trouble shoot it, other than checking that it worked fine in steam, so it may have been a glitch in the installation. But I'm becoming pretty sure that pstats installed at the boiler base, in water, behave differently and have different stresses than ones installed at the top in the steam.

Thanks Jim for your response, but forgive me, I do not understand what your saying.... That the Jaeger may not work properly in the Semi? I am just trying to figure out what would be the most sensible replacement for the Ma-ter

I don't know if it'll work or not, but the one I tried did not, and I swapped it for the Ceme, which did.
