I can't stand it when I accidentally end up with a 12 gram basket in the portable after doing a clean up and mixing stuff up.

Really, from my perspective, the 14 gram or the triple since you are using a bottomless is the best choice. Good luck getting everything finally buttoned up. Did you get anything figured out for a drip tray yet? Any updated pics? I'd love to see some!

You have probably already found it but there is currently a 2gr drip tray on ebay.com in MI for $75 (buy it now). The grate is available from the same seller (no affiliation) for $35. Search "faema drip tray" and they come to the top. They are marked as being for a Due but it may work for the smart if you check the parts book. Same seller seems to have lots of body panels so may be worth checking out.

i saw that but the due trays were all single groups, the only dual group tray is for a diplomat which i think is a bit wider than the due. But i will probably pick up the grate off there.

i may hold off for a bit and see if one pops up on ebay, im defiantly in no hurry to buy a new one at cost.

I haven't done much to is this week so i don't have any pictures to update with at the moment. I have to drain it somehow so i can get the sight glass opened up.

Im doing some "body work" so to speak, the extra holes for cup warmer and the gas control were anoying me so i slapped a sheet of sound deadner on the back and body filled the extra holes. the front clip and side panels are being primed and re painted a graphite black color.

I will post some progress pics soon.

You can sort of see the base coat of blue on the front panel, (now extra holes free) This is what the sides were supposed..... to look like.

i partially re assembled it just to get an idea of what its going to look like, i still have to fix the side panels and wait for the parts to come in. The suspense is going to kill me. Also found a used drip tray for 200 bucks but im still looking around.
