The Ponte Vecchio lever machines use a 45mm portafilter. What other lever, pump machines use a 45mm portafilter?

Sama Export and Gensaco equivalent seem to use the same portafilter.

La Peppina's basket is 45mm, but FYI is not interchangeable with the PV.

Sorry to revive this very old thread, but in case anyone digs this up, I thought some clarifying info would be helpful...

While the PV, Sama, and Gensaco machines look alike and may be based on the same tooling, there was a change made somewhere along the line such that newer portafilters do not fit the older machines well.

I haven't figured out the exact problem yet. It may be a change in the basket design (curved vs. flat lip). But I think more likely it's a factor of the casting or machining of the portafilter itself, which now has too much material between the ears and the top.

It may be possible to modify the pf to make it fit. I will be exploring this in more depth as part of a restoration project.

Hope this helps.
