Please view the attached images and help me identify this vintage Elektra machine.

I found it in a thrift store, I expect it needs to be refurbished before use, is it worth bringing back to life?

Model type? Age? Vintage Semi-automatic? Worth buying? Worth using to make coffee?

Thanks!

It's an Elektra Microcasa Semiautomatica. A very capable machine.

It's almost like mine.
From what I can see I would say it is a mid 90s model.
Portafilter handle seems a bit strange to me. Maybe not original?
Mine has a wooden handle.
Take a look under the drip tray.
Major rust problems could be there.

I went back today to buy the Semiautomatica for the posted price of $39.00, only to learn that it is part of a fundraising auction and the current bid is $560. :(

So I've decided not to bid, if the machine was fixed up and guaranteed operational, I would have bid.

Thanks for the help guys!

A salvation army thrift store in Winnipeg.
Apparently they stock-up the higher quality donations and then auction them periodically.

I bet someone is rolling in their grave knowing their wife donated their precious Elektra!
