Vibiemme - failure of pressure release after brewing - Page 5

I have a just over 1 year old VBM Super purchased directly from Valente Machinery/Espresso Engineers.

When I took it home and unboxed it my pstat was set to top out at 1.4 and my brew gauge was at 12bar.

My pstat currently is 1.1 and my brew gauge with a blind filter is 10.5bar which gave me 9.5 bar at the grouphead verified by a portafilter pressure gauge.

I asked at the time of purchasing if they unbox their VBM's and do any bench testing - they said they didn't and rely on the manufacturer doing that.

Mine has thermosyphon restrictor installed and my pstat is a Sirai.

With my boiler at 1.1 I have ample steam power and microfoam is easy.

That is odd - my box came with a sticker saying "tested by Espresso Engineeers" and was certainly opened and had obviously been recently used (while still looking brand new, there were water droplets).

By chance I seem to have struck on similar settings. Why would the manufacturer set it up this way?

Cheers
