I've ordered a couple of test kits to test the water.

I know Calcaire is a problem, because each time I sent my past machines the mechanic would tell me there was a lot of calcaire and they would charge me a fortune to clean it.

Anyhow, I am on the right path and the Brita has to do something favorable no matter what.

I will know later this week about the hardness.

By the way, what am I looking for ? hardness of how much ppm or whatever

Randy,

I read the article from beginning to end and found it very interesting. I've had aquariums most of my life and used to have extensive testing equipment necessary to keep salt water fishes.

A few points stuck in my mind from what he wrote

1. He drinks Brita Jug Water

2. That it is possible with the correct water input 90ml hardness to actually not need (or very little) to descale.

Did I understand that if I was to use Volvic water, that it "is" perfect the way it is ??

I drive by Volvic all the time as my son goes to school there. Just a note to say you see the sign to get out a "Volcania" always brings to mind images of Dinosaurs :) There are actually mounds of a series of Volcano's in a row that from a distance look like "Anthills".

I mean it is a possible choice to just keep Volvic in stock to fill the machine... Thoughts ?

Also looking in to home filtering system. As I have my house for sale, I would want to take it out and take with me. Of course all this has to be approved by my other half, which right now $$ is the priority.
