Vibiemme Domobar Super - Control box, not working? - Page 2

Postby KSinning on Mon Jan 02, 2012 10:00 am

Maybe I wasn't clear - on "on" (I) with water in, all the lights are off - and the pump isn't starting, but if I lift the water tank the low water level indicator turns on - as it is supposed to do, but still no water in the boiler.

The US and European model looks the same to me.

Then, from what you are describing, the water level switch is at fault. You can TEMPORARILY test this by simply connecting the two black wires with a homemade jumper consisting of a 3" length of wire and two male spade connectors.

Ensure that the boiler has a proper water level by physically checking same.

I tried that and it worked perfect, thanks a million - it is now up and running.

Is it possible to fix the switch or do I need a new one?

After refitting everything I want to make sure that all the seals are tight and perfect is it possible to make a pressure test or is it ok, if there is no visual leaks.

I also did have a technician to test the control box and there was no errors at all - Eric you got a lot of credits for your electrical diagram. Thanks again.

The switch is inexpensive. It is a SPST NC (single pole single throw normally closed) and should be available from you local espresso parts dealer for just a few dollars. You can run the machine with the jumper for now but if you run the reservoir empty it can cause some serious issues.

Since that switch carries the entire electrical load of the machine, be sure to get one with a sufficient rating.

I managed to clean the connections of the microswitch - so now it's working until i get a new one. Thanks for the link.
