I have been having some trouble with my Vetrano lately and am wondering if any current or past owners would like to share their cooling flush ritual with me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do have the thermocouple installed in the grouphead so I am able to closely monitor temp but for some reason I have not been able to reproduce stable temps lately.

I need more info to be able to weigh in. Typicaly I pull about 5 ounces if my machine has been sitting idle for a while (20 minutes or more) and wait until my EricS thermometer drops below 190 degrees to stop the cooling flush. Pull out the portafilter and prepare the shot. Pull the shot 30 seconds after I stop the cooling flush. Gets me a brew temp of about 200 at the grouphead.

If the machine hasn't been idle very long I flush about an ounce past the subsiding of the flash boiling, prepare the shot and pull. The EricS thermometer shows something like 195 - 197 when I stop that cooling flush; yields the same grouphead temp as mentioned above.

Hope this helps. To get more detail from others, suggest you go into more detail on the particulars of the problems you are having. That may help address key items that need correcting in order to fix your problem(s).

Good luck!

I have noticed lately that my temps are not stable during the shot. While my shot is actually extracting my temp will surf down around 2 to 3 degrees. This never happened before and am wondering what is going on. My normal routine was to flush to about 203 to 205 depending on where I wanted the final temp to fall and within a second or two the temp would stabilize at around 198 to 200 and would only wander a few tenths of a degree. But now, That has stopped happening.

I have my pressurestat set at 1.1. I flush about 5 oz to about 204 if I want a shot at 200. After flushing, the temp bounces up to about 208. I let it settle to about 206, then pull the shot. It drops quickly to about 202, then settles to around 199-200 by the end of the shot.
