Used Isomac Zaffiro wont heat up, need wiring help

Postby nmix on Sat Dec 18, 2010 6:31 pm

Hello all ,
I bought a used Isomac Zaffiro yesterday .The problem was that it couldn't warm up.
I opened it and I found the two wires are connected with the plugs in the bottom of the boiler, out of their position. There is no indication where goes each wire in order to plug in it back.
The one wire has got cyan color and the other is green. There are only two positions in the bottom of the boiler and I don't want to risk putting in wrong plug and damage the coffee machine. That's for I'm asking for the support of any Isomac Zaffiro 's owner who has the availability to give a look at his machine's wiring and reply which is the correct position of the two wires.
The two cables are indicated within the red circle ( I put them on this way temporary and while the machine is out of order)
Thank you very much in anticipation.

Cheers

Either way will work the same -- it's a heating element, i.e. a plain wire that gets hot.

More interesting is why the owner removed them, and didn't replace them; let's hope the heater passed the continuity test.

I turned on the machine with the cables as in the photo for a while and warmed up regularly. I switched off it quickly being afraid of potential damage due to the one cable is connected to the brewing lamp and the other to the steam for cappuccino .The owner told me that was working nice before selling it but that seems to me very difficult the cables to be moved out during the shipping and since the machine came in excellent condition.
I'll test it today accompany with the Mazzer Major and my favorite coffe Toraldo but I have the intention to give a call to the Italian Company on Tuesday in order to assure me the correct position.
Thank you very much for your reply.

Eventually I gave a call at Isomac Service in Italy and they confirmed that there is no difference of the position of the two cables. Additionally I asked the way to adjust the brewing pressure and the technician told me that the Zaffiro is not ...adjustable !!!!!!
After that answer and bearing in mind some topics as follows
Isomac Zaffiro brew pressure too high
we can understand the high level of information of this forum.
Cheers and enjoy
