Your high limit switch screws into the boiler top with M4 x 0.70 threading identical to the Rancilio Silvia whereas the Chris' Coffee pic shows the switch being held in place by a small metal bracket that goes over the top of the switch.

This small bracket is held in place by two small machine screws. On my Anita (and on many other Quickmill machines - but not yours :) ) there is a male spade terminal also held in place by one of those small machine screws. Yes, it is very cramped in that area - those with big paws need not apply for a tech job.

In the pic below, the type of terminal you need is shown all the way on the right.

That terminal is either missing from your boiler or you are overlooking it. The ground clip is tin-coated copper.

Eric. I have looked and I think the clip is missing. I assume a previous repair was done and they forgot the ground clip. Can I attach a clip somewhere somehow? Thanks

How about looking for an M4 threaded hole in the vicinity of the high limit switch? If you can't find one, I would then ASSUME that the terminal I speak of was held in place by the switch itself - that would be poor practice but . . .

You did confirm that the other end of this wire goes to the main terminal block where power comes into the machine?

Yes, wire comes from main terminal block.

Send me an email: erics at erols dot com and I will send you an Andreja parts catalog. It "sorta" shows the terminal being held in place by the switch. I'm a little hesitant to recommend removing that switch because I know how fragile they can be.

Without going into a long discussion regards ground wires, their purpose, and good locations, I would say to relocate that connection to the screw that helps keep the boiler steady. This screw is accessed from the bottom exterior of the machine and goes into the hexagonal hx fitting at the bottom of the boiler. Better there than nowhere.

The ground lug (male spade connector) can go just about anywhere. It should be connected to the boiler through. Any screw above the boiler's lower joint where it attaches to the frame or the group that goes in to the boiler should be fine.

By the way, the pic of your boiler showing the hi-limit t-stat... Those connections are pretty ugly. I suggest removing all wires that look like that, cleaning all male and female sides, and applying a light coat of silicone dielectric grease before reinstalling the connectors. When pushing on the connectors they should be tight on the lugs. Corrosion like that leads to high resistance and that causes enough heat to melt insulation.

Add a cover over the vac break to keep the terminals clean

See What is this part of my Anita boiler and why is it hissing?
