Upgrade Expobar Office Control pressurestat?

Postby Tazza d'oro on Sun Feb 13, 2011 9:25 am

I should like to know if it is possible to put a higher grade of pressure stat in an Expobar Office Control. If so, what would be the preferred make? Unit is for home use only.

Chris' Coffee sells the jaegar pressurestat; they claim it's "one of the most reliable pressure switches on the market today".

I put one of these on my Office Control several months ago. I was able to disconnect the copper tube at the boiler and wiggle it completely out to make the exchange very easy. Had to torque down the fitting at the Jaeger pretty hard to get a good seal. Wiggling the tube back into place took several attempts. Temporarily taping the nut to stay at the end of the tube helps reduce frustration.

Jaeger very expensive and no more reliable than the others. Ceme seem to have SS diaphragms, though.

Little Giant pressure stats are the most sensitive, but limit at about 1.0 bar. Pushing the range increases the dead band.
