I'm working on a New EK and need a wee bit of help: how in blazes do the main side panels come off? I've gotten the front bits off, and the upper cup tray, but can't see the trick to the main panels. Any tips?

Take a flat blade screw driver one preferably that the blade is thin and pry the stainless side panel off. Work it around and it pops right out then you will see the screws behind there.
