Some old espresso machines

Postby bamaster on Wed May 04, 2011 5:03 pm

I stopped by a local coffee supplies distributor today. Picked up a new Mini Vivaldi. While I was there they demonstrated the machine for me. Gave me a run down of the controls and even pulled a shot.

Anyways, I suppose this is where they do some repairs. Surrounded by old machines, I suppose they use for parting out. I thought it was kinda neat!

Ahh PVC air lines...no longer OSHA approved...possibly grandfathered in but it is a ticking time bomb even if it was installed properly.

Where are the levers?

Interesting. And is that a little Marzocco languishing away on the bottom shelf in the second pic? Bit of a waste if it's not completely shagged.

But I'm with Jason. Where are all the proper machines. Not a lever in sight. Obviously they must all still be in service or are all too valuable to be in a graveyard.

They are pics of graveyards. Levers don't die.

In the shop room at the Good Coffee Company in Seattle. It looks like what the shop pictured above would have looked like 50 years ago.

In that fourth pic, the PVC pipes were running water. That's what they used to fill my water tank. That's my Vivaldi in middle.
