He said the new rev will help ease initial setup, warmup time and shot stability (and the PID won't overshoot the mark as much). Really excited to dial in more coffees and see how flow profiling can help us find different flavors!

So would that be a V4 then? Any other glaring issues with the Single Group tho? Sounds about perfect now.

We've never experienced any glaring issues to my knowledge. One or two experienced some challenges during initial setup, but the revised manual and firmware are going to make it a breeze for everyone in the future.

I don't foresee any more teething problems either. You really just need a large flat or conical (ideal :D ) grinder that can go sufficiently fine for "the Slayer Shot", and an interest in experimenting with acidity and sweetness in your coffees. As more people start mastering the tools of grind adjustment, flow rate and shot profile, we're all going to learn a lot more about how different beans and roasts can be enjoyed as espresso.

I am excited new owner of Slayer single group serial #786 with the latest sofware 1.7.1A
I am in the process of setting up the machine and am about to calibrate the steam pressure transducer. It is recuired to enter the "pressure offset" setting to do the calibration. However as I enter the advanced setup menu, this option is missing from the menu??
Any ideas from you bright minds out there, I am desperate to try out this machine :D

I noticed that they have moved the steam pressure transducer from the top of the steam tank to the back wall of the machine.

Cheers

I think that the system self-calibrates the steam pressure as of recent firmware, including the current version. As such, it was removed from the menu. Perhaps your manual version is outdated... Or just wrong. :)

Also, the move of the transducer to the back was to thermally isolate it, and Slayer offered free kits to modify those of all existing machines. I was one of the first to get it, owing to the fact that my transducer was one of the first to fail.

Ok thanks Nicolas, I have the version 4 of the manual (downloaded from Prima Coffee). The machine came without a manual :?
I can see that the steam pressure is set to 1.5 bar, but there is also a caution in the maual that failure to perform the calibration of the steam pressure transducer may result in a steam system malfunction. Are you sure that it self calibrates? Is the pressure offset option still in your Slayers advanced setup menu?

My machine did have a calibration setting when I got it with version 1.6.x, but it went away when I upgraded to 1.7.1. Devin from Slayer noted the change when he sent me the update... Pretty sure you're all good.
