Sirai pressurestat for Fiorenzato Volante?

Postby woofhead on Tue Feb 16, 2010 12:33 pm

Hi,

The mater pressurestat on my fiorenzato volante just died and I'm considering replacing it with a sirai but I'm not 100% sure it will fit inside the case.If anyone with a volante or the bricoletta has done this I'd love to hear about it as well as any other recommendations.I also need to replace the high temp limit(broke the stem while troubleshooting-dumb!)-does anyone know the temp needed? I think it's 152.Thanks much!

I don't own a Volante, but perhaps a photo of the Volante innards would help us to give you a good guess?

Anyway, just wanted to chime in on the resettable hi-limit fuse you're talking about. 152°C is 302°F, which is MUCH hotter than you need the fuse to be set to. 130°-135°C (265°-275°F) would be best (safest for protecting your element) if it's available. Check out this thread for more information on pressure vs. temperature in a steam boiler.

I have a Volante and was wondering if the Sirai fit? When your pressurestat failed was the result too much or too little pressure?
