I assume you've checked the valve opening while steaming, yea? I know this is almost patronizingly obvious so please don't take offense, but the valve on my Silvia closes as it gets heated with the steam...so I'm often turning it open once or twice during the steaming. If I don't do that, I get the same result you've described in your original message. Give it a try & good luck.
