Those are valid observations, and I believe you are correct. I did notice that the feet appear to be floating off the surface the machine is resting on as well. I did not suspect that which you mentioned, but was suspicious of the image being shopped. But I think that Slavatore will have no problem recreating that CAD image into a machine of the same design...

Ummm, Yes... I do agree that it may be a mockup superimposed over the photo of a generic street.

The background is a stock rendering background included with a 3D modeling program named Solidworks. Here is one of the GS3 using the same background (just cropped a bit more). It was the best looking background in the rendering package that came with the software.

I've contacted them regarding pricing and hopefully they get back to me soon, so I can decide it I really want to sell my Vivaldi Mini II and buy this bad boy. It's certainly not a case of lust, as I really like my Mini, but imho it's most likely going to built like a tank and frankly I think it looks a heck of a lot better than my Mini.

FYI, I just finished completely stripping, descaling, opening up the brew boiler (which was pristine) and generally making certain as I could that everything was up to snuff and didn't need to be replaced. BTW, Jason @ CC is a vast repository of extremely useful information, which he's more than willing to share. So if I do purchase the Salvatore db I pray that they someone with half the knowledge of Jason, who's also willing to walk you through the routine minutia and anything else that pops up.

The world could use a non-Dalla Corte DB in between the $2500-$6500 range. Any one wanna take the over/under on $4500??

Well shoot. I live just over the hill from Salvatore, and coincidentally, I was just by his shop the other day. I even thought of dropping by, but I thought to myself, "Nah, he's an old skool traditionalist. He won't have anything new in the works." Hah. How wrong I was. Looks like I'll have to pay him a visit. He's a great guy, and more than happy to show you around his shop. I do a little race-engine building, (hobby level, not pro), and he was very open to talking about "shop" stuff. IOW, he was not the least bit arrogant and aloof. Not in the least. I have been following the dual boiler, dual-PID, Breville. At $5600, it may not be enough to change my mind, but it sure is an appealing feature-set. Living so close, I don't know how I missed it, but I'm glad you guys spoke up.
