Hi all:
I am a newbie here and have a question. I am currently posted abroad and have a Giotto set up for European power (UK 230v). what would I have to do to use this machine in the USA on 110 power? or should I set it up on 220v power here? or make some change to the machine? thanks in advance.

You would need a power converter rated for at least 15 amps, 20 would be better. That would step up the US 110V to the European 230v. Easy to do, just another plug in-line with the power but the converters can get expensive. The 50 cycle vs 60 cycle used in the US should not really be an issue.

Unless I'm missing something, you'd need a 20 or 30 amp 110 outlet to plug it into. 10 amps at 220 requires 20 amps at 110 + a tiny bit extra for losses. Unless of course it's a 7 amp 220V machine.
