Erics: Thanks for those links. I have both of them. The big one on the house and the small ones on hose bibs where high flow to sudden shutoff is a common occurrence.

I tried unplugging the machine and lifting the E-61 lever and got absolutely no readings on the gauges. Apparently the solenoid valve is not leaking.

I too thought a 1/4" line should be plenty of flow for an espresso machine. The line for filling the ice cube maker is smaller and uses more volume of water!

But having the machine on, the pump electrically disconnected, and lifting the lever would give you a pic of what pressure the pump sees on the suction side . . . true, a lot more than brew flow but perhaps closer to steam boiler refill rates.

Once the machine goes out of warranty I will feel free to rip it apart AND once I find a exploded view. The factory has yet to even address my request for an exploded view, let alone a service manual. The owners manual is only for trouble shooting coffee is very lacking in technical info.

I figure out if I hook it up as per instructions in that wimpy manual, which they seem to deem adequate, then all should be good. I guess I am an optimist.

I gave up on the Rocket. I sent it back to exchange it for one that worked correctly and not only was the replacement damaged in shipment and I never got it but the one I sent back was also damaged. I give up on Rocket.

I am not sure what the weak link in the chain is but I am done fussing with it. For that amount of money it should work correctly right out of the box.

My Rocket launch pad is vacant and my NASA funding program has been cut :D

Still no refund from WLL on the Rocket and they have had it for a couple of weeks. No refund on the Ceado E-37 grinder. The 2 that they sent me did not work! Why in the world would someone send out a defective product and expect the customer to enjoy the shopping experience?!! So now WLL owes me several $K...

I have used another vendor to get a completely different espresso machine and a completely different grinder since the R-58 and the Ceado E-37 do not appear ready for prime time!

It appears that WLL has responded and done the refund! Kudos to them and their sales staff :D
