Replacing pressurestat in Vibiemme Domobar Super

Postby StevenO on Wed Nov 30, 2011 7:07 am

I bought a Sirai to replace a faulty pressurestat in my machine. The existing pressurestat was a campini and not knowing any better I bought the Sirai of the Internet. Now imagine surprised when I got the Sirai. The size difference!!! My question is how do I fit it into the machine? The Sirai has 2 rows of 3 screws to attach wires. Do I connect one wire to the bottom row and one to the top. I assume that the order does not matter. How do i connect the Sirai to the boiler. The campini connected to the right side of the boiler (looking from the front). Pictures I have seen on the Internet the Sirai connects to the back of the boiler. Do I get a new copper tube or do i try to bend it to fit.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Update for anyone who who wants to know. Apparently my vbm domobar super is an older model which did not come with the Sirai pressurestat. After many conversations with George at Espresso Company Australia http://www.espressocompany.com.au, He found a new pipe for me to bend to fit the Sirai into my vbm. A few creative bends and presto functional coffee machine making wonderful coffee again. Many thanks to George at ECA and Lawrence at coffee aroma for pointing me their way.

Good to know. I about to say my Domobar super had the Sirai from the factory. Did not know they made them with a different one.

Mine had the large, "black box" style Parker. see:
