Replacing handle on portafilter for Nuova Simonelli

How would I replace the handle on my Nuova Simonelli Oscar portafilter.

Is it a screw on?

I have made replacement handles for an Oscar before. They do unscrew but can be very difficult to get loose. They are on with thread locker. Usually, heating the portafilter boss (where the handle screws in) with a torch will break down the thread locker. You have to get it real hot. I usually stick them in a padded vice then use a pipe wrench or strap wrench on the handle and just throw some brute strength at it. You can get other ideas from from this thread.

Best way to remove portafilter handles?
