The La Marzocco PF will fit a triple basket even without cutting the bottom off. It's an unusually deep PF. Most other brands of PF need to be cut to fit a triple.

Right. I figured triples are just for bottomless PF's.

If you read my initial post, the goal was to find a shallower basket than the stock basket. So a triple basket doesn't interest me right now.

Actually, I was playing around with temperature this afternoon, and it seems that may be the biggest factor in my lousy shots lately.
