Removing La Marzocco GS/3 brew temperature probe

Postby Peppersass on Sun Jun 12, 2011 1:18 am

In recent months I've noticed the temperature reading on my GS/3 fluctuating a bit more than it used to. The variation is only about .5-1 degree, but I could have sworn that it didn't jump around as much before.

I've been wondering if this may be caused by mineral deposits on the brew boiler temperature probe. I'm considering draining the boiler and removing the probe for inspection, but before I do so I'd like to hear from anyone who has removed the probe.

To wit, how did you remove the probe and did you have any leaks or other problems after reinstalling it?

I've pulled my brew boiler probe. It's a piece of cake and it didn't leak at all after re-installing. I think you are quite a bit handier than I am as well ;-)

cheers,
