Hello all,

I'm about to enter the world of coffee and getting a secondhand Rancilio Silvia helped me on my journey. It's a v2 model from 2005

I've had the machine over a week now and have made plenty of coffee with it without any problems.
The machine is quite clean I do have to descale it though.

Yesterday I've encountered a problem though - After pulling a few shots water and steam are leaking from the grouphead whilst all the buttons (except power) are off.

I'm looking for some pointers as to what might be the problem and whether I should be able to fix it myself.

Like I said I'm new here so if the provided information is poor please let me know.
If me posting this problem is not proper etiquette please let me know as well.

I'm hoping some of you have a solution, I'd be very sad to break the machine only a week after I got it.

Sounds like the solenoid valve is not closing all the way. Maybe a bit of deposit which could be dissolved out with mild acid. Or see here:
