Either way.. They both turn, the pump and the motor (the pump, if thats the one with the copper lines on it) turns easier though. I can do it by hand but its not as easy as turning a totally loosened steam knob either.
My boiler appears to be stainless, with I think a brass top piece. HX connected to the top piece is also stainless. So I guess they did pull a quick one, but im happy as long as it lasts
I also aggressively removed the feet/stands on the frame since there was no way they were getting off, not even with heating the bolts with a torch.(had to get them off so the frame could be sandblasted/powdercoated)
I was/am actually planning to insulate the boiler, I am looking into what kind of materials I can use right now. Silicone foam seems like a good choice but its waay to expensive imo, and fiberglass seems to make mess, especially with an internal vibe/rotary pump to shake things around. But I sttill have a bit of time to look into that.
Cecil, cant seem to find your topic on your S27 restoration anymore..But I am pretty sure I remember reading it in the past, not sure if it was on CoffeeGeek though..
How is it going with your restoration Napierzaza? Does everything work after a few days of testing and drinking coffee?
