I'm sure Quickmill are working on something to compete in the DB wars. Any rumours?

Once upon a time espressodom lore tells us Chris was working with QM on a DB. Challenges at the time led to it being scrapped and the HX Rotary Vetrano was released shortly there after instead. Have heard no stirrings of a QM DB revival movement, yet would not surprise me.

I remember reading in old threads and some perhaps as recent as a year ago that, as Mike says, Chris started pursuing it and then went with the Duetto instead in the end. Given that he doesn't like to have a lot machines that are almost the same (each one tends to fit a slightly different niche) I'd be surprised if he wanted to carry three double boilers at essentially the same price, and given that he seems very happy with the Duetto and Vivaldi I'd be surprised if he pushed for one. Perhaps it might be motivated by vendors outside the US? Anyone (especially Chris) can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Being a QM owner myself, I would love to see a QM double boiler hit the market.

I agree with the statement that Chris doesn't like to carry a bunch of different machines that all accomplish the same thing, rather the "best" machine for any given purpose.(have you noticed that the MAcap MXk and the Valentinas are gone?) Still, I would like a QM double boiler.

If I made one, I'd Take the Vetrano as it is now, and add another boiler for steam. Run an HX through it for incoming brew water. The the steam boiler the ability to be turned off if desired, and just run the brew boiler. 110v/15amp. And maybe more room for cups.

The Duetto kind of accomplishes this.
