I have my Anita on timer so it is at the working temperature when I want to make a coffee. The problem has started a few weeks ago. When making a first flush water was running from a group as expected but a pump did not start instantly. It used to take 5-10 seconds before I heard the pump working. After initial flush everything used to work as normal. Today the pump did not start at all. What could be wrong with the machine and how to diagnose the problem. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a brew switch problem . . . possibly adjustment. Try pushing the brew switch in with your fingers and see if the pump starts immediately.

It does not looks like a switch problem and pressing the switch did not make any difference. It has something to do with a heat. This morning when machine just turned on and was cold the pump was turning on instantly without any delay, when it heated up to working temperature it had a delay of 2-4 seconds before it turned on. After I did the flush - no delay at all. The longer machine remains on the longer this delay gets and after being on for a few hours the pump does not turn on at all.

Then you might try TEMPORARILY bypassing the thermal switch on the Ulka pump.

The "old" represents your existing wiring, the "new" represents the bypassed condition. Makes this change with the machine UNPLUGGED. If this solves the problem, order a new thermal switch.

Eric, it looks like you were right about the thermal switch. I plugged in the pump directly and it turn on instantly now. I will try it for couple more days just to make sure that problem is gone and will order a new thermal switch. Thank you for your help again.

That's good news.

I would hold off on the order (even after you are 100% certain) until you want some other maintenance items. Shipping/handling cost is an understandable big part of that order.
