Quickmill Anita - No low water indication

Postby cheezerman on Fri Oct 15, 2010 8:50 pm

I know the Anita has a GICAR controller.

I was under the assumption that there was a buzzer noise that sounded when you were low on water in tank.

Is there also supposed to be a buzzing noise when the reservoir is low or empty?

I haven't heard a buzzing noise yet. I'm probably just mis-understanding the function of the buzzing. Can anyone explain how this function is supposed to work?

I thought it just turned off the pump.

There is on the later models of the Andreja but not on the Anita. AFAIK, the Anita low water sensor (magnetic reservoir float) shuts off power to the pstat which in turn shuts down the boiler's heating element.

Actually it might be a very reasonable idea to test this function by purposefully running the reservoir low and ensuring that the heating element shuts down. Both the red and green heating element lights will remain off until the reservoir is replensished.

Thanks, Eric.

I was hoping you would reply :)

Thanks for clearing it up. Anita: no buzzer, Andreja: buzzer.

I've tested the low water behavior, and it does indeed shut off the heater until more water is added.

Thanks!
