I've had the QM Profiles for around two weeks now. Been happy with it so far, very solid and quiet machine. No trouble programming each profile. Comes up to temperature pretty fast, and maintains temperature through pulling multiple shots.
I'm using the water tank presently, but have the plumbing kit.

Would you be able to confirm if you can do manual profiling with Andreja similar to the Vesuvius procedure as described in this post: Ambiente Espresso Vesuvius Pressure Profiling , second paragraph? I'm considering getting the Andreja Profiles and the manual profiling is something I can see myself doing with new coffees.

Mike, unfortunately no. Once the profile is started, the menu switches to a bar graph of that actual profile as it is run. You cannot switch out of this without disengaging the lever and then selecting another profile. Which would not be good. I'm sure they could fix this in a future firmware.

Thanks Jim, I appreciate you took the time to check it out. It's very disappointing for me as I really like the other aspects of Andreja Profiles 1. I tried contacting Quick Mill by email but never got any replies back so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to change the firmware, unless someone with more traction can get through to them.

Jim, what you would say is the warm up time on it?

Only about 15 minutes. Very quick to come up to temperature. And around 20 minutes it's consistent in holding temp.

On the warmup time, any E61 machine to fully warm has to heat that 5# chunk of bronze with the slow heat exchange flow from the brew boiler..
That has been profiled historically in this forum and is usually about 45min. A trick is to put a towel over the grouphead and it speeds it up considerably, some say to almost 15 min. The temp readouts on the machines show the water temp at the sensor, not leaving the grouphead...
Cheers

The grouphead of any e61 takes a considerable time to heat up, it can take up till 45min. But still at 45min it is not at it's most stable state, this usually happen arround the hour mark and in some places 1h and 15minuts. This machine will be no different as it is very similar to a V2B (and iteration hereof)

Anyhow bit of a let down that you can't shift profile on the fly. But I guess that makes it easier to choose between the Decent, Vesuvius and L-R one machine less to consider

Pretty much the reason QM Andreja Profiles is out of the race for me now. Which is to bad 'cause I like its internals better than Vesuvius'. Hopefully someone from QM or a retailer reads this thread and gets QM to make a firmware change soonish :) .

I'm not really in a hurry, I won't get the next machine until next year, unless I win the lottery. But then I might just get something a little more fancy
