Hi All,

I recently came across this guy, and was wondering if anyone knew much about it. From what I have garnered thus far, Promac is Rancilio's "Second Brand", and this model is similar to an S26?

I have the intake in a bucket of water for now, and it takes a bit, but water comes through. I have just ordered baskets (did not come with machine), shower screen, blind filter, brush, and a new gasket since it is disintegrated/missing.

So, I plan on putting on the new screen and then backflushing. Is using a chemical solution necessary/okay on this model? I read that you cannot use chemicals for every machine.

Assuming this all works out, I will use the bucket solution for a bit until I can figure out how best to hook it up to the water supply under my sink in my kitchen.

Now, how do I get the most out of this machine? I cannot find a manual anywhere, and I am no pro barista, so I could use some guidance from anyone with this machine or a similar, and older, Rancilio.

Thanks for your time and input!

Sincerely,
Ben

You can download manuals for similar machines here: http://www.rancilio.com/rancilio/index. ... language=3

I would do a little disassembly and take some pics to post. In addition, some amazing things can happen when your location is a little more specific than "United States".

Ok, updated my location! I will take some more pics. I got the manual for the S20 series, but there are some marked differences with this guy from what I can tell.

^ Thanks, my friend Jonathan works there, and Mark (Big Spoon Roasters) used to work there. I run This & That Jam http://www.thisandthatjam.com and so I am going to try and make it over there on Friday morning, sad to say I have not since moving to the triangle a year ago, but I have a 9-month old, so, I figure that is an excuse.

Ok, here are some photos of the inside. Do things look alright to you all? I got a 3-cup portafilter basket and it was too deep for these portafilters, so waiting on the new 2-cup one still. Is this the correct valve on the end of the water intake so that I can use a bucket for water, at least as an interim solution? Break valve I believe?

Any input is greatly appreciated! I plan on backflushing the machine a few times, and I am waiting on a new screen. Should I use chemicals for the backflush? I read that some machines cannot take that due to aluminum parts internally and to just use water.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Ben

Seeing as though your boiler pressure is about 1.0 bar higher than what it should be :( , I would travel to that Friday morning "get together" that Dan mentioned NOW. There is a lot of intelligence that gathers there.

Your maximum boiler pressure should be around 0.9 bar and I would attend to that before anything else. Yes, you can use Cafiza or Joe-Glo for backflashing on your machine.
