Pressure reading on plumbed-in machine

Postby Dieter01 on Tue May 12, 2009 1:38 am

I had the Alex Duetto plumbed in recently (including a pressure reduction valve set to 2 bar). When I open the water supply the machine confirms the 2 bar reading. However, after I pull the first shot the pressure goes up to ~4.5 bar and stays there. This is not a temperature effect, even if I pull the lever immediately after turning on the machine the pressure gauge will read 4.5 bar.

I have to turn off the water supply and bleed off the pressure (using the lever on the machine) in order to drop it again.

Is this normal?

OK, great. So no need to bleed it off then, I can just leave the machine on 24/7 with that pressure on the gauge?
