Best Christmas ever thanks to idrinkcoffee.com! Was perfectly happy with my Bezzera/Macap set-up, but then I got a magical email saying I won the grand prize in their Holiday Giveaway. Even though it's here, I still can't believe it. Super excited to work on getting things dialled in!

Thought I would add to the fun here. I have had the 920 for close to 2 years, and of course the Sette is new, replacing a doserless SJ I sold.
Nice looking set up with the BDB. Where's that tamper from?
Kind regards,
Karan

Karan, it is from the Buy Sell Trade forum here! It is a Reg Barber, I got it with a few bases, flat, curved, different kind of curve. I just got it around a week ago. I like it pretty well.

Thanks! It took a few emails and a phone call to actually believe I had won. Still in shock, but super excited!

At least they responded to you - they can be pretty elusive!

Enjoy the new setup!

Finally I am posting our home setup. The EKK is on loan from a friend who owns Elixir Coffee in Philadelphia. He asked me a year ago if I wanted to borrow it for "a few months" until he opens his new roastery. Over a year later I still have the pleasure of borrowing it. When he actually needs it back I will go back to my Pharos with Vodoodaddy mods ;)
The GS/3 is MP with the Strada mod.
There is a sink perfectly situated right under the counter and a built in knock box.
I posted this photo on the Facebook group World of Barista, started by Dritan Alsela. Over 1,000 likes!!

Nice setup Derek, we all need friends who can loan us top gear for a few months

I've played with a GS3 and realize that it's a good size chunk of hardware, it seems small next to the the EKK. Not exactly a cupboard friendly grinder, a nice grinder just the same. Enjoy
Between order and chaos there is espresso.
Semper discens.

[quote="Espresso in SB"]Longtime reader - first post. Started with a Gaggia Classic and Baratza Vario. Now I'm using an ECM Classika PID and Monolith Flat. Enjoying the setup, but oddly I'm most excited about being allowed my own drawer for espresso gear - longtime married folks may understand :D

Hi Jason, True. Your drawer space is enviable. Now, that is true luxury. Are you quite happy with the Monolith?
