Yours truly! That's my handiwork. I joined a woodshop and taught myself how to use the lathe since I didn't have the patience to wait for the parts to come in from other sources like Specht (great guy BTW, just SWAMPED with work).

Thank you for the kind words. I never would have gotten this machine up and running without this forum's help and a certain someone that used to be an engineer at LA Marzocco that conveniently lives a few miles away from me.

Kudos to all who did the fine work and got that machine running in such spectacular presence.

My new espresso setup:

Equipment list:
M&V Vesuvius (ver.2)
+ Shower screen IMS E61 200
+ Steam wand La Marzocco BG-5/FB-80 with sproline foam knife
Mahlknonig Peak with small hopper
VST ridgeless 18g and 20g. IMS single 12g
Bravo tamper flat 58,5mm
Acaia Lunar scale
Atago pal-coffee BX/TDS
Espro Toroid2 12oz and 20oz
Rhinowares digital barista milk thermometer

Bought, but waiting to receive:
Tidaka Tampercube
Mahlgut dozer 58,4mm

I still have to select and purchase the water filtration equipment.

I picked up the Vesuvius and the Peak last week. Having fun with the pressure profiles.

Cheers,

Vicente, boa configuração (nice setup). Looks like you'll have a few toys with many configurations to keep you busy for a long time.
Now if you only had access to fresh coffee.
I'm currently drinking coffee from São Sebastião da Grama, Brazil roasted locally by Carvalho coffee roasters in Oakville Ontario.
Between order and chaos there is espresso.
Semper discens.

Redbone,

Thanks! Yes, I have plenty of access to fresh coffee. Talking with friends from Clube do Café in Brazil I picked up a long list of fresh coffee to try over time. I started with Mogiana from Santo Grão since I am very familiar with the taste.

Why did you feel the need to change the shower screen?

Do the 18 and 20g VST fit the Vesuvius bottomless portafilter?

Is 58.4mm not too tight/create a vacuum effect for the dozer?

Planning on a similar set up here. Thank you.

I have a vesuvius also
I have the Kees e61 shower screen - gives me more headroom and helps even extractions - no had less centre dead spots ( i previously had the IMS one )
18 and 20 will fir the naked pf
I have a 58.55 tamper , it has a razor edge , there is only a problem is you pull the tamper out really quickly
Hope this helps a little
