Stan! That is a very nice and complete setup.
Have you wanted a momentary push button on the top of the E37s so you did not have to push a PF into that button on the grinder body, and then also have the PF button too?
Sure, you can push the PF button with you finger behind the basket or receptacle but an additional button sure would be nice. Possibly a Mod for the future for me

Hi Stan. I see you have an Eric's thermomether installed in the group head. Do you find it helpful with a Dual Boiler? If so how? The reason I ask is because I have one installed in a Giotto HX and I find it extremely helpful for my cooling flushes. I also have a dual boiler LUCCA M58 and I was wondering if it would be beneficial to move the thermomether to the LUCCA. I just don't see what advantage it would provide with a Dual Boiler. Thx in advance.navystan wrote:I have an espresso and brew setup. Not pictured is my Hottop roaster, I roast my own beans. Pictured is the center of the setup, the Profitec Pro 700 and the Ceado E37S grinder. Also in the picture are several scales including the Bonavita and Hario. Also have a Breville 820 Smart grinder I use just for pour overs. I do pour-overs, but my wife uses the Behmor Brazen Plus for "easier" brews.<image>

It will be measuring the water temp at the group as opposed to at where the pid measures if from in the boiler ( and it being off set .....)
It will vary from person to person and machine to machine how useful you feel this is .
I have seen one used on a vesuvius for example to good effect

Erics thermometer also displays the group head temp at idle. This can help you track changes due to ambient temp changes. My air conditioning can affect my group head temp by as much as 2 or 3 degrees F, since there is an air vent not far from my machine.F1 wrote:Hi Stan. Also, Erics thermometer can help monitor the health of your group head and thermosyphon system. If scale buildup becomes a problem in the E61 mushroom or thermosyphon loop, the idle temp will be affected(lowered). In such cases, the thermometer would indicate a problem worth investigating.

Tidied up and have few extra bits.
The writing on the wall is where I keep track of my progress in dialing in the various bags of beans I have on hand. The top set is light roast, which can cause me some problems. The next set is called Super Daddy by my local roaster, and it their medium roast blend that I use for lattes.
However I sometimes make espresso from that and that is the third batch.
Below that are the two new bags of espresso beans, the upper are a medium roast, the lower a light medium roast.
I write weight in, grinder setting, group temp, grams out, indication of flow rate, then sour/bitter balance notes.
