Another plus is that it adds a third method of heating the house.

GS3 being the second? :)

Hi Aleksi,

Now that you mention it, the GS3 is actually the 4th heating method :)

My recent purchase of a slightly used Speedster got the ball rolling on a long over due kitchen rehab project. Since this will most likely drag out for awhile I built a new Coffee Bar to house the Speedster while I rehab the kitchen. This is in a relatively unfinished area of the house so I had to run power(110 & 220v), drains, water lines, clean up some old cupboards, make many trips to area hardware stores, ect. Building anything new in a 250 year old house always takes longer then expected so I didn't get the Speedster up and running until last week. I'd like another 3'-4' of counter space but for now this will do. Current plan is to have medium sized coffee bar in the kitchen for the MCaL, vac pots, ect & a large stand behind Coffee Bar/Wet Bar out in the dinning area where the Speedster will reside.

Since taking these photos I've swapped the Speedster's mirrored bodywork for the engine turned panels. The mirrored covers were beautiful but a cleaning nightmare as they showed every spec of dust. Since my woodstove is in this area they weren't a good choice for the current location. The engine turned panels are much more user friendly & I can store some cups up on the warming area without worrying about scratches.

John, nice to see Paul's Speedster landed in good hands. Also, let me guess...your VII was sold to Jman? I'm guessing as the timing was just too coincidental.

Good guess! I mentioned that I was buying the Speedster in an email & Jeff immediately asked about the Vivaldi. We cut a deal & he drove over to pick it up. Selling a machine doesn't get any easier then that!

I just upgraded from a Lelit PL51 (that you can see here) to a Vibiemme Domobar:

You can also see it in action here:

Here is a video of the Lelit, in case you're interested:

Nice upgrade, and Merry Christmas!

One suggestion... The single spout is my favorite to use, and yes, it can be awkward if you try to tamp it like a double spout.

Use the edge of your counter. Hang the spout off the counter, and rest the bottom of the PF on the counters edge. You'll probably find yourself naturally bringing your leg close to the PFs handle.. Not sure why... Stability? Anyway.. This works great. Tamping as you did in the video makes it just about impossible to tamp properly.

Of course, a tamping stand works just as well. But counters are free.

Your suggestion makes a lot of sense and is very intuitive
Gonna try it in 10 hours, for breakfast
