I blame Nicholas for the new group cap! :-)

It sure does look familiar! I guess the wood didn't hack it too well?

Honestly, the wood didn't change a whole lot for the time I had it on there. It did show up a bit cupped when I first received it though, making it more elliptic than circular. Loved how it looked, but the Kees cap is truly a lot nicer than the standard GS cap.

GS3 counter looks awesome... especially that 5lb of counter culture. . . Now thats MY kind of consumption! lol

The "upgraded" group cap looks great for sure.

And DUDE.. I am JEALOUS of the Nino! I REALLY want one. Normally, Im not a doserless fan, but grinders such as the Nino(and K30) I like Doserless. It looks so awesome... And tank like too! Lucky! lol

Jason-
Congrats on the Vario. . . I think you are one of the few, if not the only, to own both Vario's. Cool!
(BTW, You got any plans for the bumper tamping stand, or might we discuss some business? I always wanted one, but they stopped making them before I could buy one. Email-Jeffaliscous-AT-Yahoo-Dot-Com if you wanna discuss)

Koffee-
Loving the new major. Ive got a major, but an older body style, which, I have yet to paint. I am tempted sometimes to just buy a brand new one, cuz they look so damn nice!

As for me. . .

No, no accumulator.. yet. However, while there IS flutter on the gauge, the extractions are on point, looking and tasting wonderful. Buuuuuuut. . . Im probably going to add one anyway, if only for the added quietness. If you look, you'll see the FJ/Bottle are both on two towels each. The whole setup is WHISPER quiet, probably beaten only by the Elektra Sixties. But, now that I no longer have a Vibe Pump, Im on a "quiet quest".

Not drained yet either. . . the was todays project, but I got caught up in watching tv and drinking espresso all day, so, Ill have to work on it this week.

This setup is temporary though. Im moving in the next couple of months, so Ill have it properly plumbed and drained, setup on a 56" cabinet, for a complete coffee bar. Very excited.

I have to say. . Owning the VII, has actually cured my GS/3 Lust. I am very surprised by that, but kinda relieved to be honest. But, point is. . . I LOVE THIS MACHINE!

Jason I regret to inform you that you may also have to upgrade the knockbox as well in the next 1-2 months :D

Thanks,

Paul

Glad to see we have a new Vivaldi Fanboy!! If I ever stop thinking of things to add to the "temporary" coffee bar I'm building I'll post some pics of my new set up.

Paul, you know I am a big fan of your company's products, regardless of the name . . . in fact, my first order of Bumper products (knockbox, tamper, and tamper stand) was purchased directly from you, when I couldn't find it here in the States. Since then, I've ordered another knockbox, tamper, and tamper stand -- all Bumper -- for my office, and now a new Cafelat tamper stand for my home!

Seriously, it's such a joy to use. I had no idea how much the Bumper stand slinging on the counter really bugged me until the switch. The Cafelat sticks to its spot like glue, and having it all in one piece is great! I still have the Bumper tamper in its "coaster," and all is right in (my espresso) world. :D

But -- yes -- I do keep checking the Cafelat website for new products . . . .

Cheers -- and Happy Holidays,
Jason

I recently bought Pauls new corner tamping mat. Its excellent, but not really suitable if you have a curved/rounded edge to your kitchentop. It really needs a square edge or it tends to slip down. I can probably build up the inside square edge to fit more snugly to the rounded kitchentop, but we will be moving soon so I'll instead wait to see what we end up with... I was also temped with the latest variant of the tamping stand, but decided I didn't need both. It looks really well made.

I see Mark has one of the new corner tamping maps a few pictures back, you can see how it fits nicely on the square granite edge.

Here is my current setup with an Alex Duetto II, Mazzer Mini and Baratza Vario. I have switched out the water wand with the Andreja no-burn wand for better functionality as the Alex straight arm was somewhat limiting in its range of motion. I also just put on the no-burn steam wand but it is not in these pics.
I am really enjoying the new setup.ImageImageImage
