Now that we've moved into our new home, here's a pic of my setup--the other Mazzer is still packed.

Well, I finally pulled the trigger.

After 2.5 years with my Rancilio Silvia w/ PID and Rancilio Rocky, this upgrade is a dream come true. :D

I cannot compete with such a gorgeous setup, but this is all I can swing for now (and probably ever). Sorry for the low quality image, it's a phone picture.

Espresso shrines are nice, but the nicest are those that deliver the taste the owner wants. Any rig is good if it does that!

My setup, nothing fancy, but room to move around, and no height restrictions (important since I have been planning a grinder upgrade from the Mazzer Mini).

David,

Love the Granite counter top, very clean and nice looking setup. I have always admired the La Spaziale design and your setup is very nice.

I have a Granite top as well, and I never thought it could/would stain, but if you leave coffee or for that matter much worse "oil" on the counter top it can stain. I used a special product to get out the stain, but it took several nights repeating the application and the coffee and oil stains came out of the granite.

Best thing to do is always wipe clean right away. Mine was hidden behind so didn't see it right away.

Good luck with the nice setup, wish you many perfect pulls :)

Thanks for the kind words, the setup works well, I'm pleased with the working room, and my wife's support in allowing whatever needs to go there. I think the key is making capps she likes, as often as she likes.

I always wipe up right away as i realize how porus granite really is. There are sealers that help, but really if you just keep it all clean it is never a problem. Thanks for the tip.

Well, looks like I'm relegated to a "me too" post now. Technically, the T1 was as well, in many ways, so I won't feel too bad.

This is my old setup. I'll take a pic with the K10 some time soon. I had to remove the lower shelf of that unit to fit it beside the Duetto

If there's one thing I could add, it would be plumbing in my machine. No matter how diligently I refill the reservoir, I still occasionally run out of water in the middle of pulling a shot.

That is a cut-to fit sink mat that I got at Bed, Bath & Beyond here in the US. It's just a rubber grid of rubber circles. I cut out every other one to promote maximum airflow while still protecting the cup warming tray (and dampening the pump noise). I got the idea from Ian (cafeIKE) in Eliminating Noise From Vibration.

I had the one he used for a long time on my Quickmill Vetrano, and eventually it discolored from the heat. I also found it imported a funny smell to the cups. The one you see below, I can't find online anymore. I love it, though. It's been through the dishwasher a number of times, and it's still grippy and doesn't smell funny when it gets really hot (important, because the GS3 steam boiler puts out some serious heat in the back of the warmer). They're a little ugly, especially compared to the mirror stainless grid below. But I've always found the reduced noise and scratches it a fair tradeoff.
