Thanks, I really wish I could find a job doing this kind of stuff where I live. Ever since I became really really involved in coffee I have come to have a deep love with everything related to this art. Its really too bad there isnt a market for this kind of stuff.

I moved to NC about two months ago, and I've finally got my setup the way I want it.

I picked up the Linea on Craigslist -- it's a 2007 model and I believe the guy who sold it to me when he told me it was only used about one year (failed shop). I cleaned up the brew path, replaced the group seal and it's good to go. I have a PID to install, a Ruby Red giggler on order, and am considering the group cap kit as well.

The K-10 has been great right out of the box. Maybe there's no "conical break-in" with this one. Either that or it's so good that even during its break-in it beats the pants of the Mini-e. I've only put about 20 lbs through it and it's remarkable -- especially at the price.

I think one of my friends is going to buy the Brewtus 2 and the Mini E.

Coffee has taken over the dining room. I moved the large cabinet from my house in Texas -- built in knock box and Shop-Vac. It was pretty easy to mount the pump under the cabinet and route it through the back panel.

I am thinking of upgrading to a Mazzer Mini E and since I see that you have one I would like to know what you think of it so far. I also have to say LOVE the setup I wish I had the space to do something like that. If your friend bails on the Mini E let me know.

BlueGrod,
Yep, I really like the Mini E, but if I were to do it all over again and buy a grinder in this class/price range, I'd definitely give a good hard look to the Cimballi Max Hybrid. Heck, I'd even think about getting a used Major or Super Jolly.

I was originally seduced by the timer and the funnel, thinking it would help me keep everything tidy and make dosing coffee very simple. In reality, these things are nice, but now that I have a dosered grinder (K-10 WBC), I'm actually making less mess, wasting less coffee and skipping the WDT all together.

hope this helps,
-Fred

Beautiful setup Fred. I wish I had the space for a nice dedicated area instead of squeezing the toys into the small apartment kitchen space available... I have told my wife when we eventually move home and build a house that a kitchen island will not suffice - we need a kitchen continent!

Fredfal,
Yeah I had considered the cimbali myself but since I am also a big fan of turkish and presspot coffee the grind adjutmest was a big negative for me. I also like the larger mazzers but do not have the room for them. Let me know if anything comes up with that mini and Ill be glad to talk price with you.

Well it's a start. I just got the grinder last night, it's a Rancilio Jacky (rebadged Lux using Rocky burrs, but it's got a 6 blade 'agitator' not 5? Circa 1984?) Cuisinart EM-100 (Christmas gift that made it's first real pull this morning) with a Gaggia Factory double basket (night and day difference from the supplied one). Cups are soon to be replaced, and it all sits on top of an old school Rancilio knockbox.

I'm currently working on getting a lever machine too! My girl (who got me my machine) thinks I lost it because I wanted to change the PF basket on the machine. Last night I showed her what a real puck looked like, she was amazed. Time to mod the PF to go naked
