Isn't there a economic slowdown? I can't tell from this thread.

Think of all the money we're saving by not buying at Starbucks, (and of the better coffee too).

Well, I see they took my suggestion from a few months back to put the speedster logo in red with the black side panels. Now where's my free speedster for the suggestion?
I have to say it did come out as nice as I thought it would.

I guess you could still ask for one...

I'm going to assume that large plant to the right of your setup is what's growing in your knockbox.

Really nice looking setup, Jim. In all seriousness, though, where do you put spent grinds?

Exactly. While I was waiting for the arrival of my Expobar, I was spending $4/day at Starbucks (or the delicious coffee shop behind my office). So eventually, I'll be saving money. But not for a while. :?

This is my new setup. Thanks a million for the info found on this website that I finally decided on a Vibiemme Domobar Super Lever and a Compak K3 Touch doserless grinder.

For the past 3 weeks I have been bouncing off the walls with the shots that I have been pulling and consuming but I guess we all find our own levels. My wife and eldest lad goes for the barista course come end of the month. My turn when I get home next from abroad!!

I still have my old faithful - the Solis Masterpro but it's on the market.

I love the look of the ultra shiny SS but I wonder how much time goes into polishing. Like having a Harley in the kitchen

No polishing necessary...I wipe mine (Quickmill Alexia) down with a damp cloth when it's cool and follow that with a dry cloth to remove the excess moisture. It takes very little time and still looks like new. The La Valentina would take even less time since the grouphead is mostly covered.

The Knockbox is in the drawer underneath the machine. Chris sells one that is shallow enough.

Apartment buildings have two sorts of supers, those who think coffee grounds clear the drains and those who think they block them. I didn't use a knockbox in my old building, I do in this one -- the main rule is never to piss off your super.

The plant is a actually postmodern plant statue, aka plastic.

Then it would leave oil spots all of the counter

The VBM also comes with a black shell.

I just use a microfibre cloth every couple of days and give my gear a quick wipe off. keeps everything shiny.

Yes, I ride kamikaze bikes.

Finally got round to joining up. This is my latest set up: Gaggia Visacrem VX ('94) and a Faema MPN. Other bits and pieces including Aeropress/presspots/Gene blah blah...

Cheers
