Yeah, so neither of us can use our original plates, and the new ones really don't match. It took longer than I anticipated to get the new (correctly nutted, but non-matching powdercoat) plate sent back so I ended up with the old one zip-tied onto my grinder backwards for a few weeks.

Though we largely have the same setups mine isn't so shiny as Doug's. I've never polished the brass on my grinder.

Though I bought the upgraded "knurled" pulley for my Versalab the belt still slips pretty regularly. I'm not anxious to go through shipping the grinder back to the factory to try to have the bearing fix (whatever) done. It has been frustrating.

Still, the kit looks the proverbial $1000,000.
I hope you bought the VL Grinder before the serious price hike.

After seeing some of the hardware on this thread, I'm hesitant to throw my hat in the ring, but if I'm gonna be posting, then might as well let the world witness...

<sheep> Baaa! I got a Silvia! </sheep>
<sheep> Baaa! I got a PID! </sheep>
<sheep> Baaa! I got a SJ! </sheep>

Silvia has been OPVed with a single O-ring and given the Auber treatment. the SJ has been de-dosered and de-fillswitched.

You will be putting in dedicated plumbing, having the electrician string some new circuits, getting some custom cabinets and developing a hernia from moving 100 pound equipment before you know what happened. Nice beginning, wish my first kit was that nice.

Great choice between that and the GS3. Beautiful machine! The grinder though... could use some cleaning :D

P.S. My comment is of course made in good fun!

It's soon to be cleaned and demoted, but I need a replacement first. 8)
